General Meeting - Creating your own eco-friendly family

April 2, 2009
7:30 pmto9:00 pm

This event is for all members. Prospective members and babies are always welcome!

About this event: With Earth Day around the corner, we thought it would be appropriate to have an expert talk to us about ways to be more eco-friendly as a family. Iris Stewart-Frey is not only an assistant professor at the Environmental Studies Institute at Santa Clara University. She is also a mother of two young boys (not twins, though), who tries to use her knowledge about our impact on the environment for her everyday family life. Therefore, this talk will be about incorporating an environmentally friendly life style into the life of today’s busy families. We will learn more about small (and maybe bigger steps) that everybody can take at home, at work, at school etc. to be more environmentally friendly and resourceful with mother nature. This talk will be specifically geared towards families with younger children and will address ways of raising kids in the right spirit. An overview of local groups, activities, events that deal with this topic and are inclusive of kids will be provided.

Snacks will be served.
